Playrooms No Re-hires Needed (2026): Safer Run Guide
How to unlock No re-hires needed in Playrooms (2026): what the achievement asks, the rooms that end runs, and a low-risk route for a no-replacement clear.
Quick answer: "No re-hires needed" is the achievement for finishing a run without using a replacement. It is the only achievement that can fail, and it is easiest on a dedicated save with the fear setting lowered. Learn the rooms first, then run them clean.

What the achievement actually asks
The Steam description is "Replacement staff stood by, but unused." That is the whole official text. The working interpretation, based on the wording and player reports, is that you finish the game without triggering the replacement mechanic.
The game does not publish an official rule sheet, so treat this as the practical definition: complete the run without using the safety net the company offers. If you never see the replacement prompt, you are on track.
Why it is the hardest achievement
Most of the list is cumulative or automatic. This one is a single-run constraint, and the game's horror design is built to make you rush. A scare that makes you sprint into a dark corridor is exactly how a run ends.
The other complication is knowledge. You cannot plan a clean run until you know the room layouts, the pit routes and the timing of the blackouts. Doing this on a first playthrough is possible but unnecessarily hard.
Preparation
Before the attempt:
- Finish the game once on another save. Learn the Hotel corridors, the School lockers and the Backrooms loop.
- Lower the fear setting. A jumpscare that makes you rush is a mechanical risk, not just a mood. The cozy mode guide→ explains the setting.
- Use a fresh save. The achievement is per run; a save with a replacement already used is not a valid attempt.
- Do not combine it with the collectible hunt. Hunting sparrows makes you take routes you have not practiced.
The Hotel and the Backrooms are where clean runs fail. Run them once on a practice save until the routes are automatic, then start the real attempt.
The route
There is no speedrun route worth following for this achievement. The safe route is the normal route, played slowly:
- Playroom. Full clear, buy capacity, leave.
- Poolroom. Clear the deck, then the waterline. Do not swim for one ball.
- Backrooms. Corridor loop, deliver often, do not explore in the dark.
- Waiting Room. Chairs, reception, ceiling, pit lip.
- Office. Ignore the phone. Skip the stairs.
- Hotel. Short loops, room numbers, leave when the corridor narrows.
- School. Empty hands before lockers. Clear the gym last.
- Final pit. Deliver, then exit.
The all rooms guide→ has the detailed routes.
The rooms that end runs
The Hotel. The narrowing corridor is the main fail risk. If you are inside when it closes, you can lose the route and, in the worst case, the run. Leave at the first sign of closure.
The Backrooms. The maze plus a blackout is how players get lost and panic. Use the corridor loop and turn back from unlit corridors.
The School. The locker bug is not a death, but it can leave a pit unfillable. Empty your hands before every locker; a reload is safer than a reset.
The Office. The phone is optional. Answering it adds a follower and a route complication for no achievement. Ignore it.
What to do if you fail
If you trigger a replacement, the achievement is gone for that run, not for the save file. Start a new save and try again. Do not overwrite your practice save; keep it for route reference.
The rest of the achievement list is unaffected. You can still earn every other achievement on the failed run.
Is there a way to cheese it?
No reliable one. The achievement checks the run, not the menu state. Quitting and reloading does not reset the replacement flag, and there is no known console command or save edit that restores it.
The honest strategy is the one above: know the rooms, lower the fear, play slowly.
How long does the run take?
If you know the rooms, a clean run is a few hours. The variable is the Hotel; a bad layout can add twenty minutes. The School adds time because of its size, not its difficulty.
Do not rush the final pit. The run is won by not failing, not by finishing fast.
